One of the best children's books I've seen
My wife and I bought our first copy of this book in London, a couple of years ago. The illustrations are outstanding and the cute, simple story lights up the eyes of every child to whom we've ever read the book. Since then, I've been buying copies for children from three years of age, to seventy, as gifts. We would not part with our own copy. I would love to have a chance to bid on the original art of "Katya" doing the "bear dance", with Brown.

A True Dance in the Wood
Steven Ruskin has captured the 'true' Bear Dance in his most creatively-written interpretation of William Holbrook Beard's 'The Bear Dance'. It is impossible to not find yourself immersed in this splendid celebration that is so vividly captured. Ruskin's use of poetry is fun, enchanting and it will take you time traveling with it's medieval spirit and mystical setting. I highly recommend this reading for anyone who loves, lives, and challenges the idea of 'possible'.

My daughter loves this book -- I do too!
My daughter finds this book appealing because she identifies strongly with main character, who cannot sleep without her stuffed bear, and who needs her bear to feel safe. I love this book because it presents a child living a normal childhood, who just happens to be a part of an interracial family. The fact that the family is interracial is deftly woven into the story, a part of who the child is, and yet not a big deal. She has a white mother and a black father, a black grandma and cousins who are both white and black, and it is all presented as perfectly normal (which, of course, it is!) She is comfortable enough the racial differences in her family to discuss her own skin color in a matter of fact way (saying that, when her bear is clean, he's the same color as she is, light brown) and to compare the texture of the bear's hair to her cousin's little dreadlocks.

As a parent of two children in an interracial family (white and asian) I am delighted to see such a lovely, sweet children's book, which has a good story, and presents an interracial family in such a normal light. Not to mention that the ending is so comforting to both adults and children. It is a lovely book to read to a child just before bedtime.

Masculine Eroticism in Vivid Color!
These are striking men who are very masculine and exotic looking. The beautiful color photographs in this book by Barry Gollop, who is better know as "The Bear", are all part of his collaboration for many years with Kristen Bjorn. If you're familiar with the men in Kristen Bjorn's all-male sexual videos you know what to expect from this book. These still photographs are beautifully reproduced showcasing the very best muscular, handsome, and well-endowed men of Kristen Bjorn productions. Most of these men are from Brazil and Latin America. A beautifully produced hardcover book from Bruno Gmunder publications. There is a short biography about "The Bear", and 104 pages of hot images that are meant to excite & they do. This book should be in everyone's all male-nude collection. This one shouldn't be missed! One of the Best!

Bear Gets Dressed: A Guessing-Game Story

Weather Bear
I found that this book would be great to use to introduce a weather bear in a pre-K or Kindergarten class. The book follows the decisions Bear makes when he gets dressed in the morning. Three articles of clothing are given to choose from and then we find out what Bear picked. His decisions are based on how the weather is. I think this is a good book to help young children learn how to chose appropriate close for the weather. I highly recommend it.

Tom Bethany bares the bears
Enjoyable read from fun author Jerome Doolittle. Tom takes on the S & L corporates in the most unusual of ways. You _think_ you've read the routine via Crais' Elvis or Parker's Spenser, but you ain't seen nothing til you've met Jerome and a few of his friends. Go ahead, get the book. You won't be sorry.

Bear Hugs for this Charming Book of Poetry
The talented husband and wife team of Michael and Kathleen Hague have once again created a delightful treasure for the nursery library. This precious little book is just right for a bedtime reading with 9 short poems and 23 colorful and engaging illustrations featuring little ones and their favorite teddy bears and toys. Some pretty stars and moons are sprinkled throughout to add a touch of magic. It is short and sweet and many of the illustrations are full page so it will certainly hold the interest of little ones. It would make a lovely new baby gift.

Timeless Tales review
By TT reviewer Sam [full review on our website]

Hunter Blackwell spends most of his day in a bear suit for his lead role in a popular children's show, Bidwell Bear. He loves children, but dreams of becoming a professional singer. Paige Holbrook loathes life in the fast lane. She has been a celebrity's wife, and it cost her her marriage. When her son ends up in a coma after a car accident, she turns to the hero little Jamie idolises, Bidwell Bear. Hunter finds himself getting increasingly involved in the life of Paige and Jamie. Can Paige handle another relationship where the media will watch their every move?

I don't know about you, but I have had it up to here (hand to throat-level) with cardboard people with cardboard emotions having a life that not even soap operas can match. If one of the characters in a romance is a celebrity, you can be sure that you are going to be disgruntled and disgusted by their behavior sooner or later. And when that happens, read Bear Hugs, and your faith in celebrities' humanity will be restored.

This story is highly enjoyable. The characters have depth; the plot is believable, flows effortlessly and holds the reader's attention. The couple have respect for each other, and they are on equal standing. Paige is a wonderful mother. The passages which describe her concern and anguish over her son are very touching. But the best character by far is Hunter. He is not racing after money and fame.
What delighted me was his sheer niceness. Every woman should have a Hunter Blackwell in her life. It is so refreshing to read about an artist who knows what the real goals are in life, not drugs, babes and fun, but honesty, a clean life and love. He has true qualms about what to do with his life; gain satisfaction by making children happy or pursue his dream. It is not often that these kinds of choices are analyzed with such good results in romance novels. Bear Hugs is in many ways an untraditional romance, placing so much emphasis on choices. Ms. McBlain pulls it off beautifully, though. There are many pitfalls when writing this kind of romance, and Ms. McBlain has avoided them all. Next time you hear someone complain of the quality of e-books, give them Bear Hugs.

GREAT for Beginning Readers
My four-year-old had several common sight words and had begun to spell simple words by spelling them out. I knew he was ready to start reading but couldn't find any books on his level. Most books had too many words with more than one syllable even though they were for preschool/kindergarten. I found this book at the library, and he immediately began reading many of the words. He was so proud of himself! I highly recommend this book for any beginning reader. It has mostly one syllable words unlike the other books. I plan on buying several books from the Road to Reading series in the future myself.

Good old fashioned romance.
When Paige Holbrook needed help to bring her son out of a
coma, she turned to his favorite children's TV character,
Bidwell Bear. Rather, she turned to the actor who portrayed the dancing bear.
Hunter Blackwell, the man in the bear costume, granted
Paige's request, though reluctantly. He wanted to give up the
beloved character for a popular recording career. Paige guarded
herself against another disappointment, as her ex-husband had
spent his life in the spotlight as a popular NFL player.
Ginny McBlain's book will make the reader laugh in
places, cry in others, and reach for the tissues--lots of them--
when the time comes. It's good old-fashioned romance, and this
one is as good as it gets.
